Built by an NP navigating the same system.
Nehemiah K. Ingram, DNP, FNP-CFounder, The Multistate NP
I built The Multistate NP to help nurse practitioners make more informed decisions about where and how they practice, what their credentials can unlock, and what an opportunity is actually worth.

- Multistate Practice
- Experience across in-person and telehealth care
- Clinical Practice
- Urgent care, primary care & metabolic medicine
- Nursing Education
- Graduate nursing faculty & clinical educator
The work behind the resource.
Clinical practice, multistate licensure, telehealth, nursing education and career navigation all shape what I build here. Each has shown me a different part of the same problem: useful information is often scattered when NPs need to make a decision.
What Informs the Work
Clinical Practice
My work has included emergency and urgent care, primary care, metabolic medicine and telehealth.
Multistate Practice
Working across state lines showed me how quickly licensure, prescribing, credentialing and practice requirements become difficult to manage.
Nursing Education
Teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing keeps education central to how I build resources: useful, evidence-informed and understandable.
Career Strategy
I’m interested in how NPs can use licensure, different practice models, 1099 work and compensation analysis to create careers that fit them better.
My Path Here
My career started at the bedside as an ER and ICU technician before I became a nurse. I later worked in emergency nursing, including travel assignments in large trauma centers, before becoming a family nurse practitioner.
Since then, my work has expanded across urgent care, primary care, metabolic medicine and multistate telehealth. Alongside clinical practice, I’ve taught undergraduate nursing and now teach at the graduate level.
Moving between those settings changed how I thought about an NP career. Licensure became more than paperwork. Teaching became another way to use an advanced degree. Different employment models changed how I evaluated compensation. And working across settings showed how fragmented the administrative side of a healthcare career can be.
The Multistate NP grew out of that experience.
