How We Build Our Resources
State licensure and practice information should be traceable to the rules and agencies responsible for it.
Primary Sources First
Regulatory content prioritizes boards of nursing, state statutes, administrative code, official licensing agencies, pharmacy boards, controlled-substance agencies and other state-government guidance. When possible, we link directly to the source so you can check the rule yourself.
Secondary Sources as Research Tools
Resources such as NCSL can help identify relevant statutes, regulations and agencies. When possible, the underlying official source is reviewed directly before information is published. Secondary summaries are not treated as final authority when an official source is available.
How We Handle Conflicts
If an older summary conflicts with newer official law or board guidance, we follow the current primary source and note material limitations rather than repeating the older summary.
Keeping Information Current
Laws, regulations, fees and board guidance change. Where practical, records include verification dates and links to official sources. Those dates show when information was reviewed; they do not guarantee that a rule has remained unchanged since then.
How We Handle Uncertainty
When a requirement cannot be confirmed from a current official source, we identify the limitation rather than filling the gap with an unsupported assumption.
Corrections
If you find an entry that may be outdated or incomplete, please send the state, topic and an official source to hello@themultistatenp.com.
